KeymasterRe: SMEG Repairs
I had to issue court proceedings against SMEG after a year of tryng to get some new doors for a fridge/freezer that were warped.
On the sixth visit black doors arrived from Italy instead of chrome, that is when i sued them.

KeymasterI’m currently on my 5th Smeg FA311X1 Fridge Freezer, Well one faulty one that was to be replaced, four have turned up damaged or of poor manufacture: doors not true, handles misaligned, seal not. All they have offered is an extension of one year to the warrenty.
Maybe suing is the solution how ddi you get on?

We thought we had it bad! our fan assisted element stopped working on good Friday and have been trying to get it repaired since!! Unfortunately SMEG or dealer are not being very helpful. Apparently we are one of 40 such cases in the area.
The A2 range is only 18 momths old. Looks like trading standards will be getting a call.

If it’s not under guarantee have a look in Repairs@ for a local independant who would be delighted to replace the element for you 😉

KeymasterI can’t understand that one. Fan elements should be readily available and certainly a suitable alternative could be used in a pinch if all else failed.
I’ve certainly had no issues with Smeg elements for months on end and they’re normally always in stock in the UK.
Are you sure it’s Smeg and not the dealer that’s the problem?

I have a SMEG FR158 under counter fridge that has stopped refridgerating. The light still works but no cold air. Does anyone know if this is a common fault and what could be the cause/how to fix?

Litlor,
Sorry mate, you’ve answered the question before the one posed (Two Ronnies sketch wasn’t it?). Can one of our fridge chaps deal with this one?Regards,

KeymasterRe: SMEG Repairs
we have a SMEG A1.1 which has burnt out 2 elements in 4 years and now the switch has gone on the oven (which of course means the grill etc won’t work either), to start with you could get the light to come on if you wedged the knob with some card but now there is the occasional flicker of the light but it won’t stay on long enough to wedge it! Our repair man reckons it will take 4 weeks for him to get the part and then a couple of hours for him to fit it – any advice as to how we can get it sooner (we have guests all summer and NEED IT)
