KeymasterYep.
There’s a little program you run that’s invisible on the disc that I can’t recall the name of offhand, I’ll check tomorrow if I manage to get into the office in the afternoon.

My IT guy told me that Demon is pants localy and told me to look at “Bethere.co.uk” which is owned by O2. I checked their site out and find for Β£20 a month I can get there Pro service which has 24meg down and 2.5 meg up. If I can get half of that in the office I will be chuffed and remote desktop should fly…..
PHHTT, recent Virgin Media press release.
Neil Berkett, said: βVirgin Media’s cable network gives us a natural superiority over other broadband services and we’re delighted to reward our customers with this free upgrade. We’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s possible with our cable network, and we will continue to look for new ways to satisfy the growing demand for even faster broadband in the UK. We’re proud to be leading the country’s superfast broadband revolution.β
Following successful trials in Ashford, Folkstone and Dover, Virgin Media will also be extending its upgrade programme to a superfast 50Mb. Virgin Media currently offers its customers a top speed of 20Mb, and the new 50Mb service will be made available to over 9 million homes in the UK by the end of 2008. Superfast broadband speeds will provide customers with a more enjoyable, richer online experience. 8)

Just checked my 20 meg connection and I am currently getting 3763kb/s down and 129 kb/s up.
In general my connection is worse than when I had 4meg broadband

KeymasterThere was a thing on Watchdog (IIRC) about this a week or so ago about BB suppliers having to give accurate figures. Most of them are cr4p TBH.

On the upside to get a terminal working do this in XP…
Select “run” from the start menu
Enter: “f:setup terminal” where “f” is the drive with the MFI disc in it.
Follow the installation prompts.
Done.

K.I have tried that Ken, once it gets to the installation prompts it only gives you the option to install in the c: drive of the computer you have the disk in.

Ah, but did you map the network drive first of all where the program is installed? It has to see that network drive as a mapped drive to work.
Sorry, thought you’d have done that.

K.Yeah, all drives mapped. The problem is no matter what pc I install it on I always only get the option to setup terminal on the c: drive.
Looking on the bright side it only takes a couple of minutes to update.I tried installing in the new vista laptop this morning and it works a treat.
Copies will be going through the post tomorrow.John
