Is there any way that you can sift out the bots & spiders from genuine hits?

A lot of it is already.
TBH I don’t think a lot of people pay too much attention to the stats other than me really.

KeymasterOooh, that’s one of the newer ones that I’ve not seen personally, so I’d have to look it up. I think Chris may have the disc at home and I know Dave does but he likely won’t be online today.

Same system used as the Merloni disc Chris so a copy isn’t of much use TBH as it does require validated. 🙁

K.AH,HA says the master computer hacker, I read this thread on Sunday and was half sure I had installed Identiffier without getting a validation. So I thought I would wait till I got a hold of the MFI disk from the office today before I tried this.
To beat the activation all you have to do is to copy a working MFIDENT directory to a disc and then copy the directory straight onto the C: drive on the required PC, then get the current MFI disk and instal following the prompts. It worked 1st time. Once on a PC all you need is a copy of a MFI disk when the update comes out and it will install without asking for validation.
Ken have you got a PC in the office that has not got MFI on it to try this and confirm that it is not a fluke?
If it works I will get Nero wound up 😆John

KeymasterI do indeed and one here as well that I can try it on.
If that works okay then I can run it from here on the Mac using remote desktop too, which would be well handy… I think. 😕

When I first saw the post I logged onto my office server using RDP and it took 3 hours to transfer the directory over 👿 I have a 8 meg connection in the office and a 20 meg connection at home so did a speed test at home and got 12 meg down and 500k up. This morning I took a look at the router in the office and am getting 448k up and 110K down
I bloody hate computers!!!!
My IT guy told me that Demon is pants localy and told me to look at “Bethere.co.uk” which is owned by O2. I checked their site out and find for £20 a month I can get there Pro service which has 24meg down and 2.5 meg up. If I can get half of that in the office I will be chuffed and remote desktop should fly…..

Just a thought Ken, Jim Frew told me that Identiffier can networked but I cannot find anyone in MFI who can tell how to do it, do you know how?
It gets to be a pain when the update comes in having to install it in 7 different PC’sJohn
