    Re: Talk,talk

We’ll know the outcome by April the 9th, so COP stuff will probably be main agenda, but I’m easy really, just want to know what we’re doing!

    Re: Talk,talk

Other than the Qualtex man being there is there much more to discuss until we know the outcome of the meeting about the COP?

Is there any benefit in having it early, so soon after the previous one or would Mid May be better when there may be more on the agenda?

Why not April the 9th to talk re COP and other bits ,then Steve meets with Phil ,if Phil needs to speak to Ken then I wonder if he takes a trip to see Ken on his own ?
Any chance that by the 9th we will have e-mail addresses setup and the forums moved over to the WTA site ?

    Email yes.

Forums, dunno but I’d doubt it. However, I do have a thought there before you do that.

TBH I can understand what Barry is saying and, also Ade. But do bear in mind how many different calendars you’re trying to juggle in order to get ends to meet.

So far as I can see we have the OFT on the 26th of this month and then a meeting of the TA the following month. With a steer from the OFT on what requires to be done I can’t see the urgency to have a TA meet beyond that as we should have clarity on what’s next in respect to the OFT COP anyroads.

So, moving it back a bit shouldn’t present any sort of operational issue that I can see. It’s a pain as it could, potentially, slow things but other than that…

You are also of course (I didn’t think about this earlier) welcome to hold the meeting in Kilmarnock where we’d have the free use of the facilities here, meeting room etc. The only issue being I know it’s a fair trek for some to get to, but I’m used to that. 😉

Just checked AA site, me to you is 9hrs! I can’t do that! I’d be bored of Foo Fighters by Manchester!

Most people are South, so might I suggest Bristol..? Bristol has an Easy Jet dest for Ken & Barrie, so they don’t have to drive, Bry & Lawrence at worst case scenario is like 2hrs…

Just a thought… If it is Kilmarnock… I’ll take a week off because it’s like the end of the World up there! Lol 🙂

    🙂

TBH for me going to Bristol or Brum I’m as quick and cheap to drive by the time you faff about with planes. 😉

And, I can smoke as well as choose the in-flight entertainment and menu for myself. I’m also totally airport’d out ATM.

I was hoping to do it all in one hit – that’s all. The COP and the use of Qualtex’s legal department were really the defining points IMO. Having Phil at the meeting putting names to faces would also cement our resolve about the WTA first hand.

I’ll arrange another time to meet Phil, it doesn’t matter….9th it is then.

    Re: Talk,talk

I think the Millers was about the centre of everybody – apart from Ken. It’s not bad – and if the rooms can be block booked then it should be reasonable. Website shows £49 B+B ATM – not too bad but if it was £69+ then I’d rather the Hilton TBH.
Did UKW get a better rate last time?

I have slept on this and have a very simple question to put to you all ,do we want to meet so soon after the COP meeting or do we want to leave some space to put there reccomendations in place ,which means we are back to my original thought of May or June .
Its a question …… so don’t throw things at me 🙁
I can do the April date but didnt look at the work diary and my engineer would like a 1/2 day that day so I would have to work my way there .
    Really sorry guys 😳

May is good, beyond the 10th the month is clear at the moment for me.

June I’d have to check staff holidays as that’s us into the thick of holiday season.

I’d agree though, it’d probably be better to accomplish as much as possible in one hit.

    Re: Talk,talk

sorry to muck you all about but I had a thought today ,Why not meet in May as planned ,meet on a Friday and either meet Qualtex in the morning (those that want to ) then cover WTA stuff into the evening .
the benefits that I can see are that Phil Hume can get back to manchester in good time ,we can then discuss what we think freely without him being there ,It is also far enough away from the OFT mtg to have some stuff sorted by then depending upon what they say we need obviously.
I think this may be a way to kill two birds with one stone .
Ade,Ken & Myself can report back from the OFT through the forums when we get back from London .
