Got an IS60V to do tomorrow with snapped belt and snapped shaft. Am armed with thicker seals and pad conversion kit and washer. is this correct? Or should i replace the drum as well?

If I follow this correctly, the straight backed drum will try and foul the casing. The thicker sponges and washer are supposed to push the drum forward and increase the clearance.

The new drum with the rolled-in edges has more clearance to start with.

depends how old it is to be fair

you need to be looking at the serial number

if the rear of the drum is very close to the back panel, then really, its the best option

trouble is, if you fit the shaft kit and belt, all you’ll get is ‘ it didnt scrape before you repaired it line’

when you take the drum out, look around the panel and see if its been rubbing, and point it out to the customer, or ask them if its been noisy, previous to your visit, that’ll help

    good luck
