Hi tubs
I have not got mine yet but have you tryed telling xp to treat the tds program in a 98 way. i.e set program compatabilaty to 98 for that program.Paul

Thanks Paul,
will give that a go. Its a great DVD but always seems to be a pain to get the B****y thing working. Had trouble with 2004 if I remember rightly. Even tried re installing it, still no joy 🙁

That won’t stop Windows trying to block the pop ups I’m afraid, it only allows it to be installed in the first place, i.e. allowing “setup” to run in a Windows ’98 enviroment 🙁
To stop the blocker, in IE go to tools/internet options/privacy tab and uncheck the pop up blocker thing.

Your joking !!
TDS is looking for Adobe Reader 5 and won’t install if a later version is already in place, I never even thought about that to be honest, ludicrous.
I wish I’d known earlier, guess where I was today ? Electrolux ! 😆

Adobe 5 on the TDS dvd is not the standard version, it is rewritten specialy for Electrolux with additional ‘add ons’ to make access to the information possible.
It does tell you of this on the installation information enclosed with the dvd.
Talk about customers not reading the instruction books? 😉

😆
One big problem there, I use Adobe acrobat full not just the free reader version, I’ll have a play around with it 😉
Out of interest, if anyone wants the DVD 2005 it’s part number 506006065003 which is available at £20 from Washvac and Connect.

The other thing is that every time we start up acrobat, a pop up advises us to check for an updated version, I dont generaly and have not had the problem.

KeymasterRe: TDS offline DVD 2005
This annoys me in a lot of ways…
Manufacturer puts out a disc, Fagor just did it last year as well as Servis before that, and it can ONLY use a specific version of Adobe as a file reader. Currently I’m on Acrobat 7, if I use anything lower that 6 I get grumps from it about compatibility issues. The laugh is that version 6 is almost two years old so they were out of date before they started, weird.
And there’s no technical reason that I can see why they cannot use the installed version of Acrobat Reader as MFI’s Identiffier does just fine as does the Caremark disc and a few others besides.
