ParticipantI have just moved into a new home and the temperature settings and oven select settings on the stainless steel front of the oven (a Stoves Newhome EFa600H Model no. 058585102) have worn off.
This is probably down to over-zealous cleaning. Has anyone any suggestions before I run it past the manufacturer? 😕 Help please!

🙁 Come on! No replies… hasn’t anyone got any suggestions?
Manufactuer offered to sell me a whole new fascia panel for £45 plus VAT but I only need a diagram or something of the settings to keep me going. Haven’t had to use much as in middle of renovations, but could really do with some inexpensive help on this. ❗August 13, 2007 at 9:29 pm #211896kwatt

Hi Clarison,
I’m surprised no-one answered this, but never mind…
Basically there’s no way to get the graphics back on there without replacing the panel and, I’d suggest a good non-abrasive cleaner be used in future as well as this is a problem. Due to this being an often heard complain I wrote this article a while ago and I keep testing new stuff, the best so far is by far the Helios/Chromol solution. But, even at that, you can’t get too enthusiastic or you will remove the stencils, even with Helios. However, used with care they are excellent adn I do apologise if that sounds like an advert but you’d be amazed at the number of people that use the wrong cleaners on stainless steel and cause irreparable damage to the steel or stencils. 🙁
The only other thing to can do is use the instruction manual, which if you haven’t got one you should be able to get from Stoves and simply “best guess” it really. There’s not a lot more help we can offer I’m afraid.

Thanks a lot for the help… I guess I’m stuck replacing the panel then as the instruction manual (that I have been able to get from Stoves) doesn’t have one single diagram of the front panel… just individual diagrams next to each function and an explanation of what it is etc. Besides this the temperature settings are missing too.
I’ll take a look at the article & thanks a lot for the advice anyway!
🙂

Hi, I have just moved into a house and have got the exact same model oven and the same thing has happened – do you have a picture of the dials for the temperature etc. or did you have to buy a new front? Please help, I haven’t managed to cook anything without burning it in the last week!!
Thanks

Hi Michelle,
I ended up buying a new part, but before I fitted it I took a photo (just in case 😆 ) – if you’d like a copy of the jpeg send me your e-mail address and I’ll forward it to you. It should get you out of trouble for now.
Look foward to hearing from you and hope I can help.

oh yes.
please clarison, if you have a picture of the front panel, that would be a big help.
just moved into a new place – and there’s the oven, and I have no clue which position is for which mode… Pity as it seems to be quite a good oven.
found a product-pic but obviously you cannot really tell from the low-res
thanks!

I contacted Stoves customer service and they sent me the Handbook, but unfortunately that doesn’t help that much. I just can’t figure out how to use the grill 🙁 Am I supposed to be turning the temperature dial right past 220 degrees? Are there grill heats if you go right the way round?
