There seems to be 4 or 5 tiers of prices. Which tier are you on? How do you change tiers? It’s not quantity of goods bought…

…is it how harsh you are with the rep? Is it how much you flirt with the rep? Will this work…..
bazza500 wrote:Well can I just say that I think Connect are a great company and the Rep I have is the best ever in the whole universe and I think you should all stop picking on them.
Dave seems to be on the best tier, with poor penguin on the worse tier. But how many tiers are there, and which are you on?
Try these part numbers in connections dvd or the website; then list them at trade price before VAT, please. (You can drag your mouse over the text below, right-click it, copy it, then paste it straight into global search)

MER074213 – £43.53
BSH096825 – £65.46OK so there is always better prices for quantity but this is contemptible treatment (rip off).
Surprise surprise, we have given up on connect for a good while now.
Maybe this is what they want.
Plenty of alternative suppliers to choose from though.

Are people quoting prices before or after settlement discount is taken?

Errr….before? Trade prices that come up using the global search. Do you get some kind of disscount for early settlement or summat?
I thought when you open connections or log into the website, the software knows your account and what price structures to present to you.

Goatboy , What you would have to do is start purchasing BSH096825 on a regular basis (assuming you don`t at the moment) and watch your price drop on this item 😉
Buy 1 or 2 per week for the next 3 weeks and I think price to you will drop.
Expensive experiment but it will put us all in the picture and I`m sure you can afford it 😆No never heard of settlement discount either.
OH and I spend between £500 and £800 per month but this is slightly irrellevent in my opinion.
It`s good this Goatboy ….keep up the good work.

Good point! I didn’t think about different manufactuers. I’m going to add a Hoover/Candy, Electrolux and Whirlpool spare to the list.
Sorry to those that have already posted. Can you edit your posts please to cater for the extra spares.

😆
I’ve had a few of those fan motors, and believe me, I didn’t pay £62.17.
I find if you tell a rep how cheap you can buy the spare elsewhere, they will bend over backwards to beat a rivals price; but anyhoo, this thread is about the different tiers (if they exist) that we get for connections DVD and the website.
Thanks for the support Bryan. I wonder what conclusions will be drawn from this thread.

Simply that they have to make their money from somewhere, this is creative business management. We all do it one way or another. At the end of the day, the consumer pays whatever we pay plus our mark-up. Only goes wrong when, (as seems to be increasingly the case these days) the cost makes the job non-viable.
I have different trade accounts I supply to on different rates depending how they have their act together. If they are a good account, buy a fair bit of fast moving stuff, don’t abuse us & they work with us regards information and make the job easier, they get a bigger discount. The small users get 10 or 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} off. The bigger ones get 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. if it is a part we are glad to see the back of, I’ll sell it for cost plus 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
What I’m trying to say is: they are in business and so are we, therefore we all try and run the accounts accordingly. I can see the rationale behind the school of thought here, and it would be nice to have a level playing field, but I bet prices would all level to the upper spectrum and nobody would win.
