KeymasterWe’re going to the Holiday Inn Express at the NEC in Birmingham on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of February 2006.
We have some rooms block booked and have been warned that this is a busy hotel, if you want to go and get a room you will have to book well in advance. We have a quantity of rooms pre-booked already in our name and David (Quinn) NOT Dave (Conway) is co-ordinating all the rooms etc.
If you want a place booked please contact David on dquinn@ukwhitegoods.co.uk or PM “dquinn” to get a room or place booked.
Bigger, better and a few little things planned as usual. 😉

Not the 1950’s further along the main road going into Brum.
The lake may well appeal to one or two. Will E/mail Dave Q when I get a chance.

Go on then someones got to ask – whats the cost of a single or double room??
November 2, 2005 at 9:17 pm #152477kwatt
KeymasterYes that’s the one Alex.
Rooms are £90 (IIRC) a night on the Thursday and drop to £69 on the Friday, don’t ask me. 😕
David has all the details.

I know we all want to make the next meeting a progression of the last, more spectacular, more people and a indication of where we are going but the cost of accommodation here is stretching the pocket for those of us that are one man bands. It has to be said that for the three day event, it adds up to £248 plus meals and entertainment in the evenings. Add to this the loss of income and most of us will be running up to the £500+ mark. Either Dave comes up with a good deal or we will lose those that we are trying to entice to join. Makes one realise what a blinder Alex played when he suggested Sibson.

Sorry Ian but we’ve outgrown Sibson and, trust me, this one was one of the best deals. 😕
In fact, bar the room costs (for the meeting room we’re picking up the cost) it’s on a par with Sibson really. The room cost is inclusive of VAT and a continental breakfast and was Sibson not £65 a night?
On balance it’s not so bad, certainly a lot better than most that only seem to offer “delegate” rates.

Not having attended one of the UKW meetings can someone explain why this meeting is over three days ❓

KeymasterRe: UK Whitegoods Meeting – Feb 06
It’s not really. 😉
The Thursday night has been kind of tacked on as we’re there setting up etc for the actual meeting on the Friday. So, in the interest of beingnice, we try to lay something on that people may like to see or be interested in.
The Friday is the actual meeting as such.
The Friday night is, well, entertaining usually. 😉
And then the repairer only meeting on the Saturday morning where we can have a natter.
