There are at least four stables only a short canter away from me that all use the Whirlpool top loader, most of those are between five and ten years old.
But don’t take any notice of me, still a novice at this game. 😉

OK thanks chaps.
SO to conclude……
Domestic washer for the horse stuff is a NO NO – cool, can someone suggest an alternative?
AND one last question that comes from the other half, is there a domestic machine that can wash a 13.5 tog double duvet – maybe the one’s I mentioned earlier. The problem I see is that although they ain’t mega heavy with water added Id imagine they would be too much for even the 11KG machines?
Any thoughts on that question?

ParticipantThe only way to get a duvet that size clean is to take it to a proper laundrette. No domestic machine will do it properly regardless of the marketing hype you see.
The so called 11kg machines are not really that anyway as most manufacturers cheat the numbers try to get the drum capacity in litres as that is more accurate but some still cheat. The Koreans just lie.

The thing is my local laundrette uses an IPSO, the drum doesn’t look that big and when the duvet is eventually rammed in there is not room for the duvet to move around – just fills the drum half full of water and away to go, probably the reason they never come out clean. To be totally honest the drum looks no bigger than the 9-10KG jobbies knocking around at the mo 😯November 24, 2010 at 1:00 am #336651Dusty321
ParticipantMaytag washers look like they could fit the bill!

hi dusty321,
That machine looks ok, but a lot of money for just your horsey things, i wouldnt personally want my ‘bits and pieces’ washed with ‘other’ stuff,
why not consider an ise10 for your domestic use and some cheap, even secondhand machine with one of those valve thingies, (forgive me i’m a woman) for your horsey stuff 🙂 Just an idea 😀best wishes

What a cracking idea! 😀
There’s a lovely one HERE if you fancy a trip to Ipswich? 🙂
There’s a few others to choose from on eBay. All have a few ‘issues’ you may need to overcome first though but they do indeed look good. 🙁

hi dusty321,
I dont know what those valve thingies are but i do know that i would not buy a dyson washer 🙁
Have you noticed that they have ‘faded’ from the selves! Good reason for that me thinks 🙂
Wish you good luck with whatever you decide 😀
My new ise10 is arriving tomorrow and i cant wait. I will be like  watching the first few cycles!
kind regards

Hey QW, the Dyson’s are quite cheap thou – not sure why they faded from the selves, I haven’t seen (on net) a problem with them that another machine of similar age didn’t suffer from 😕I suppose I could get the cheap one from eBay, get it fixed and serviced and then get some DOMGEN insurance on it – its only 90 quid for the year peace of mind etc… 😀

hi dusty,
If you can get one cheap enough and get a years guarantee on it then i suspose that would be ok when you are washing the sort of ‘horsey’ stuff that you mentioned, as ken said any machine will fall at the hurdle of blocked ‘bits’ 🙁 (here she goes again with the technical words 😆 )
best wishes

ParticipantI think ‘er’ in doors fancies the Dyson for our washing – its kinda taken her off the (horse jacked washer) track thank God!
Just need some of the locals in here to comment on Dyson reliability etc…..

hi dusty,
Yes i was wondering what has happened to the ‘guys in the know’ on posting their opinions of the dyson 😕 They are usually pretty quick with the pros and cons regarding any machine mentioned, i hope that not too bad a sign 😉
kind regards

Dyson discontinued them ages ago and I recently heard that they were dropping support on them.
I never used one but Andy Trigg rated his as okay.
Saw one in bits though, that’s what happens when you give a bunch of service engineers a toolbox and a machine at a meeting!! :rolls:
They weren’t too impressed.
