ParticipantI have been trying to get the tap adapter pt No: 481931039637. I ordered with WhirlpoolHotpoint who took a month before deciding to tell me it’s obsolete.
Does anyone know where I can get this or if there’s an alternative way of connecting it.
Thanks,
Keith.July 6, 2017 at 6:09 pm #448731Martin

Been obsolete for over 5 years now. Nasty American fine thread coupling, not conducive to EU/UK. Use a UK adaptor with plenty of PTFE tape seems the only get out of jail tactic. 🙁

Thanks Martin,
What do you mean by “UK adaptor”?
Are you suggesting use a UK hose fitting to the valve and build the valve thread up with PTFE?July 6, 2017 at 7:42 pm #448733eastlmark

did have a couple will look in the stores in the morning. Most customers I go on have forced & cross threaded a normal fill hose on. fine till it needs removing.

Thanks eastlmark, that would be great if you can find one.
The owner had forced one on but it had started to leak.July 6, 2017 at 11:20 pm #448735Lawrence

could not find these, sorry, not say I haven’t got them but will have a better look at the weekend, don’t hold out much hope, if you can get them elsewhere I would.

the other thing to do is find out the thread sizes and create your own from a merchants

The genuine hose is 3/4 npt which is a very find thread. I have already tried to find something in brass but it’s not used in the UK.
Another thought was to cannibalise the genuine hose and add the connector from a UK hose to the tap end but I’m not convinced I will get a water tight seal where it was originally crimped. I don’t really want to ruin a £30 hose on the off chance.

Interesting; what are you suggesting? I cut a 3/4 bsp thread over the 3/4 NPT thread on the valve? -
