…that a genuine paying customer calls and for some reason can’t get through( say missed call or your phone is out of coverage) will not call again and get someone else and the one’s who take P**** out of you will hound you until you call out to them??? :rolls:

Case 1: This customer calls me and get the usual story i’ll pay you next week but you never hear from her again until her machine breaks down and calls with the same story. I even posted her a invoice and she chose to ignore it.. so when she phoned for her latest repair i said i’m not going out until previous job payed for.. so i go out to the machine and she isn’t there i get paid for previous job but she owes me for current job, back to square one…, she left money on machine for the last job.

The thing is as i know her number i tried to ignore it but she calls, calls, calls and calls. 20 missed calls in one hour and then phones at 12:09 am! So you can’t win…

Case 2: I call to a house to repair a Hotpoint WF. The usual, the filter underneath blocked. In a very tight space so eventually pull it out and get it going again. She asks how much. I tell her a measly 40 euro and i find myself half an hour arguing about it. She offers 25 euro and says that’s all i’m getting and she won’t stop so to get out of the house i accept as time is money and will cost me more arguing with her all day… I think to myself she calls me again i won’t answer. She was a real smart ass and from Nigeria by the looks of it…. So they call again i don’t answer and they call, call and call and they go to a electrical shop who gives out my number and complain to them about it that i don’t answer which i’m sure they won’t be pleased. i get a lot of work through that shop so i have no other choice but to call tomorrow to the machine…. you can’t win..

So why is it that if it’s someone genuine they will only call once if they don’t get an answer and the ones who aren’t genuine hound you??? Sorry lads rant over 😕 🙁

    Re: Why is it….

Because no one else will go back to them because they probably haven’t been paid either.

Tell them you need paid for the last call and your fee upfront for the call you are away to do.

What i also find interesting about these type of people they will expect you to drop everything for them, call Sundays and bank holidays too and phone late at night.

I’d lose that customer dude! Let your competitor have him / her!

If you state your fees either at point of booking, or, if that doesn’t work for you, DEFINATELY before opening the toolbox, you should never really have to negociate again?!

    Re: Why is it….

i had to negotiate with travelling people today i charged them £60 but as a competitor of mine has £10 off with this advert they demanded that i gave them £10 off.
i asked them if they beleived that they would actually get £10 off if they had called my competitor, they said they didnt beleive it, so i said dont beleive i am going to give you £10 off either.
how desperate must you be to put £10 off with this ad.

I wonder if they have to give the customer the “Cancellation Rights” form for these “jobs”….you never know, they may want to cancel before the seven days are up…….:rotfl:

    Just a suggestion……

    Re: Why is it….

Had a letting agency job passed to me today, I contacted the customer who lived in the centre of town to ask about parking.

His reply was ‘don’t worry because the time that you are coming parking isn’t a problem’

    Sorry?

He went on ‘You will be coming after 5:30 on a friday, and there are spaces free then.’ (he went on to say that there was no room for negotiation on this).

‘Good luck with that’ I said and hung up. I told the agency that I wouldn’t be calling to him ever… They actually agreed he was a ‘tw*t and apologised for wasting my time.

You have to be strong, even when it’s costingyou money.

What do you do when you repair the machine and then the customer tells you they have no cash.. you say ok, card or check will do, but they don’t have those either.
