If I have the login etc, I can change web addresses, basic info etc? Sent an email to membership@, and get the following every day:

Nothing recieved here Ade – I’ve checked, refreshed inbox and checked again. 😕 Don’t know why…….apart from our losing connection with our ISP and them being slow and generally useless at fixing it until Thursday PM. Could be the reason……

It’s not just membership@ Steve, it’s chairman@ and enquiries@(I think) aswell, sent emails to 3 addesses, yours was just the one I pasted reply here.
Don’t think it’s good enough myself, the rate still hasn’t been changed since I picked it up on the 23/06, and the names are still wrong. Image is a lot IMO… Mistakes like these are pretty poor, and after a Month almost, still haven’t been corrected…??
That website is our shop front… Can we get it sorted? If no-one has time or whatever, I’ll do it! Within 20mins!
Whilst I’m on one about the website, the member website / member list seriously needs updating and published. DASA have a pretty smooth website, and are clearly advertising their members… Why do we keep our members hidden? Surely by advertising names, it will be a carrot to possible new members as they would WANT to be seen to be associated with the WTA?
Some things IMO can be dealt with in ‘Spare Time’, but ANYTHING that is in the public eye, should be dealt with and updated / changed immidiately? Whoever was allocated or volunteered to be responsible for web update / maintenence, needs their wrist slapped! It’s not good enough to still have mistakes on our shop sign, a month after them being spotted!

Emails fixed in that article, once I sussed it.
All the contact stuff is sorted as it doesn’t show an email, it uses the site to do it.
The member list yes, but the way that it would have to be done (technically) for the moment really isn’t very good, it’d just be a big list. That’s why it wasn’t done but I agree, they should be there.
However, I am working on something to do that in a more slick and condensed way for another project and have been for a few weeks, that will allow a search for agents by postcode and call the Google API to display all members in a given radius of the search. That isn’t ready yet but I didn’t see any point in doing a big list only to scrap it a few weeks later for a better and, searchable, system. Seemed a bit pointless.
Also, the site will change to the latest Joomla 1.5 anyway with the Gantry framework that will allow a lot more in terms of flexibility and the adoption of the new custom module.

I’ve posted the meeting on the WTA website. I’ve put my email as a point of contact as it is a WTA address, but will forward any enquiries to Barrie & Room enquiries to Bryan.

Not immediatly but I think the homepage, could do with a revamp?
there is stuff on there that goes back to 2007-2009, these topics could be placed in the history now.
Just keep it with the current issue whats happening right now such as Sucessfull meeting, boast about the turn out and spares / appliance suppliers info?
Just a thought, as i said not urgent, those who have access are in need of a good break.
so by all means tell me to put a sock in it… 😳

Started this, feel free to comment, amend etc over the next few days before I publish it on the WTA site:
WTA September meeting update.
Our meeting was held at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry on Friday 24th September. We would like to thank all 122 attendees that included engineer members, spares suppliers and work providers for taking time out to attend our meeting.
The meeting has been hailed as a success, so the WTA would also like to thank all that were involved in the organisation and donations involved in bringing this meeting together.
There were some very interesting presentations that included vehicle tracking systems, trade direction talks, contract rate talks, WTA updates and a very much welcomed talk by DASA Vice Chairman Steve Debeger.
The WTA were pleased to announce an extra discount from spares supplier Qualtex, for WTA members, as well as extended order time cut off, which we know will benefit our members.
All in all, the day was a busy and active day, and we now look forward to preparing for our next meeting on Friday 25th February at the same venue.
