Still don’t get it. 😕
On another tack, I have finally made contact with my ex Hotpoint colleague and forum member Hotdog. He said he was interested in joining the TA and asked where to send his money.
Having a look at the WTA site there is a basic ‘Contact’ form but I feel that a more proactive ‘Join Here’ or ‘How to Join’ approach may be better.
It could be added to the About the WTA/Membership/Repairer Membership page. At the moment that page gives all the many and varied reasons to join, including costs but does not actually have a direct, ‘Press here to join’ button.
Funnily enough, the Associate Members page does have a link to the Contact page.

I forgot to tell you that Jim and Chris I gave different rights to to try it out as editor and publisher IIRC.
I forgot, okay. 😆

Just another thought. If we are all equal as council members, and we share all responsibilities, shouldn’t we all have the same editing rights on the website?

Well, I was looking again at the site, and I notice that the constitution has not been changed. I thought, I could do that now… but hang on, I can’t. Then I asked myself why can’t I? I thought we were all evenly spread and responsible for everything, then I recalled reading a post that said Chris and Jim had “different rights”. It just made me wonder why thats all?

So here’s the thing…
1 I don’t know if you’re capable.
2 I don’t have time to train everyone to do it
3 As agreed if you recall, each to specialist areas
4 I have something else in mind to keep you amused Adrian 😉
Now wind your neck in

KeymasterNo, nothing boring or unimportant, but not quick either. Think dealing with government.

Just tried to access the WTA site from my lappy for the first time, the username/password box is visible but the ‘LOGIN’ button is not, I know that hitting RETURN will work but there are still a few Luddites out there. 😉

KeymasterJim, I know. I need to learn about placements using Joomla to sort it, but it’ll get there in time.
Chris, let me know what the issue is will you and I’ll sort it?

Jim,
I’ve added the link at the bottom of the articles in that section to jump directly to the “Contacts” page for that purpose.
I was messing about with it on Friday night and yesterday a little and it’s about the best that I can do with it for now, read: it’s as much as I’ve discovered I can do with it thus far.
So, for now, I have the contacts split into relevant sections (I hope) and the appropriate contacts within the section (again, I hope) so people can easily get to who they need to speak to, or at least that’s the idea.
I get what you’re saying though and I too think it can be better than it currently is, certainly a lot slicker. I’d also like to use one of the positions on the lower front page to give a “Join Now” type thing as well. I’ll work it out no doubt as now it’s just annoying me that it’s not right.
