Seems like my problem is not unique. has provided the answer but related to a different model.
A bit of supplementary information as it might help someone.
There are four Triac switches on the control board.
These are
16amp Switch for compressor runs when demand is present and is forced off during defrost cycles
4 amp Switch for main defrost heater which switches on for about 33minutes every 12hr 40min
1 amp Switch for the drain tray heater runs during defrost and for 10minutes after the main heater goes off.
1 amp Switch of air circulation fan runs after door shut and sporadically during the cooling cycle.
All the triacs provide switched live to their loads
The thermal fuse provides the neutral return for both the main and drain tray defrost heaters.Regards
