Re: amana american side by side fridge freezer

Does the defrost stat control the fan, i had a short circuit defrost heater, disconnected the heater to stop tripping but the fan would run for a few seconds and then it stopped, so if the freezer evaporator doesnt get to minus 15 then the fan will not run? Thanks ace

Dear All, I am currently system trained but I am looking for advice on the requirements needed to carry out R134a repairs, I do R600A but it is my understanding that a further qualification is needed on safe handling and disposal of refrigerants, I appreciate any help or advice.

Hi yes many thanks, I came up with that part number but I did not see the 2 screws pointing down at rear of bezel, are they hidden? I thought I may need to take the timer knob off to remove the cover bezel to then get to further screws but I did not want to break the timer knob, the other function knobs just pulled off fine.

    Hi

Check Heater for continuity or low insulation, if all ok module could be faulty.
