Many thanks for that info and the spare parts links, very useful indeed. I got the bearing kit price from a quick search on Google, but I was obviously looking at the wrong thing!

The parts you listed plus a drum seal, delivery and VAT comes to £85, so I guess it would be worth repairing at that cost. I’ll strip it down before deciding just in case there’s anything else amiss. The other half might have different ideas though, she’s been eyeing up a LG direct drive machine that seems to get good reviews.
