Well, I’ve had a good look at the valve coils they all have 3k9 resistance one is a bit higher (4k?) but the coil looks different to the others on that assembly so may have been replaced. Took the inlet filters out, some interesting debris but not a great deal. Tried the machine again and it still stopped in one of the early rinse stages. It’ll “Fill”, “Heat” and “Wash” it’ll drain and start to refill, it fails with the water just about up to the door seal.
Without any more, simple, bright ideas to try it’ll be off to the dump I think. Along with needing a new belt all the tyres on the wheels have given up and fallen off.

OK, no problems with the duff gen before and thanks for doing the research.
I’ll have a look at the inlet side and see if there is anything obvious, like a lump of grud or similar, the inlet filters where clear when I removed the machine this afternoon. Our water pressure is not great (all fed from the loft tanks) so something quite small could make a significant reduction to the rate of fill.
With a machine of this age I doubt it’s economic to replace any of the valves and it needs a new belt as well.

Well looked in the end of the pump outlet hose clear as a bell and in the pump inlet and outlet. On test it produces a flow of water fast enough to half fill the sink with a moderate pressure behind it. I think the pump is working fine…
The pipe for the water level sensor is clear, removed and drew a bit of wire a couple of mm dia through it. It dodn’t dislodge anything or come out all grungy. Gentle blowing up it produces two sequential clicks from the switch as the pressure goes up/down.
Trouble is the machine is still stopping with the F2 code about halfway through the cycle. 😥
Anymore ideas?

Thanks for the very prompt reply. ‘Tis ancient, we inherited it with the house about 8 years ago and it wasn’t new by a long chalk then.
I’ll have a poke about in the pump/drain tubes it does seem to stop with some water in it. I did look at the bottom of the water level sensor and that was clear and not full of sludge but I guess any sludge would up the tube as high as the water reaches rather than at the bottom that gets flushed out.
I unplug when fiddling, let alone switch off. Had enough belts of the mains to not want anymore…
