Re: Ariston LSI45 stops working after few seconds

Promised to update when problem is solved:

After LONG checks and two technicians that did nothing (but suggested expensive solutions like PCB replacement, but not guarantied), I heard of some expert that might solve the problem.
She (!) was like 55 years old, and told me the problem is that I use too much soap. She found out some blocked pipe somewhere, that she claimed to be full of soap grains. It sounded redicoulos to me, but she was right!
She had it flushed several times with water, asked for 100 Israeli Sheqels (something like 14GBP), and the machine came back to life.
It works great, already had 5-6 cycles with no problem.

    Would you believe it?

Thank you for all replies and comments,

    Alon

Re: Ariston LSI45 stops working after few seconds

Here is the next chapter of this episode –
I opened it completely, checked all cables and board (that looks very simple, by the way – 5 resistors, voltage regulator, some diodes and relay and thats it). After puting it back together, the flushing (shortest) cycle went OK and finished. When I tried the longer cycle, the following occured:
    Drain pump – 10-20 sec – OK
    Filling pump – 30-40 sec – OK
Main motor/pump – worked for 4-5 minutes (water still cold) and stopped.
than – everything stopped, no LED was lit.
When I pressed reset – I was able to run the same sequence again and it stopped exactly at the same moment.
I suspect the heater now, even though it was replaced 3 months ago.
    What would you think?
    Cheers,
    Alon

Re: Ariston LSI45 stops working after few seconds

Oh, this type of a problem sounds like good news for me, I’ll dismantle anything and check for connections, cables etc.
Pressure switch – I saw that weird device and didn’t understand what it does. I understand that it is a kind of relay switch, I’ll check it as well
Thanks for advise, I’ll update the thread with the solution, if and when I find one.
    Thanks again,

Re: Ariston LSI45 stops working after few seconds

    Jim,
First of all, many thanks for your answer.
    Here is the whole story:
The exact model is indeed LSI46, but I checked and this is identical to the LSI45UK thats why I asked for its error codes. Before I replaced the drain pump, it did make a strange noise (kind of short “DZZZ”, sounds like a solenoid that doesn’t have the power to engage). With the new pump the only indication is that the LED fades.
The strange thing is that sometimes, after a day or two the dishwasher is alive again, and after 2-3 washings it is dead again. When it works – anything works (heater, main motor etc). I checked the bottom for leakage or wet areas and it seems like it is quite dry.
About reseting: sometimes it works and sometimes does not. When it doesn’t – nothing helps but waiting for few days. I will open the device and visually check the PCB tomorrow. Any specific things to look for?
And – what is a pressure valve?
    Thanks again,
    Alon
