whats the full Enr and FD number of your machine ?

Its on as we speak so will find these on the sticker. The model is a SMS25EI00G I realised the salt sump was completely empty since we moved in so put, poured a bag in wondering if it was a side effect but made little difference.
You mention old Bosch dishwashers lasting to years, I remember my mum had a 1970s Bosch chest freezer that must have lasted 30 years and a similar vintage AEG Lavamat Princess SL washer. Only replaced due to rust starting to creep in. They may not be as efficient and cost a lot but last generations appliances lasted a lot longer.

ParticipantI would have expected better from Bosch, the previous was a cheap calton from curry’s and lasted similar time

I feared. Daewoo shrug their solders saying “we’ve not made videos in years”.

Tanks for your reply but I have already done that. I was wondering if there was a hidden menu similar to the DVD hidden menu hack

Hi there, sorry in the VERY long delay in getting back. . I ended up having a company in to change the PCB – this cost about £50 fitted. Its lasted a couple of years and I think the warm weather is getting to it again as the compressor is running more than expected.

Yeah, it is about 30 years old, its a real shame though as the cooker is in good condition.

Just come back from shopping to Click Click Click.. What does this mean, what is it trying to do?
Am beginning to think it is time to replace the board. Has anyone done this? Is it difficult to do?
I have heard of stories of the cables are too short to come out with the board therefore making it very tricky to fix.
Andy advise welcome

Many many thanks. Took the lid off and discovered the “float” in the water level tank was stuck down, gave it a tap and it loosened. Pit the lid on, plumbed it in and works great

ParticipantI’ve been to see the dish washer. The dishwasher is filling continuiously and not kicking into the wash cycle. It is almost as if there is a sensor that isn’t sensing how full the machine is. I have tried advancing the clock to try an manually kicking in the wash cycle but it still keeps filling until it over flowsand I obviously hit the power button. Does anyone know where the water level sensor is, im guessing it might be dirty and not registering when it is full. When I open the door there is a sucking noise for a second or two, I dont know f that has something to do with it. The machine pumps empty ok. Im guessing it uses the same pump to wash as it does drain so Im assuming the main pump is ok.
I have tried tipping the washer on its bak incase there was an issue with a float with no joy.Any pointers will be greatful.
Thanks.

Sorry it is a PROLINE PDW041 if that helps. Just found it on the Comet website.

Thank god I came across this post!
No matter what I did, all the dishwasher was doing was trying to endlessly pump empty.
I goto put my hand up admitting opening the machine to put that forgotten tea spoon in.
Many many thanks for this gem of knowledge. Dish washer now working a treat after tipping it onto its back feet for 30 seconds closely followed by a mop and bucket 😀
