    he left the service sheet for the film

    its 8 pages, but :

    “Reason : if the circulation pump or feed pipes are replaced during service work, protective film must be attached after the new parts are installed. This precautionary measure should provide additional protection against moisture in the base area”

    Miele booked for a fixed price repair on Monday & arrived this morning.

    As Dave thought, it was the heater element.

    Complete pump unit was replaced, and also he added a film around the pipes which he says is a Miele recommendation.

    Absolutely delighted with the service from Miele

    In general – do you think the miele is worth saving? Our last one lasted well

    Miele want £249 as a fixed price repair.

    The alternative would be something like the Siemens IQ300 SN236W03MG which is £549 at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee.

    If the Miele was 5 years old, i would lean towards replacing it, but at 3 years it still seems young [h=1][/h]
