thanks for the reply. I had already fitted the genuine Bosch pump part number 144192 supplied by UK Whitegoods (3 days to arrive with the cheapest postage). The replacement part looked a bit cheap and nasty, but then so did the one I took off.
It was not a difficult job, although the grubscrew that secures the pump in place in its hole in the front panel is in an awkward position and it required a bit of metal crushing with pump pliers to get a screwdriver on it. It also looks, at first sight, confusingly like a corroded rivet. I replaced this screw with a cross-head self tapper. I have added all this info. for the benefit of anybody else who might have to tackle this job.
