Bosch are still involved, they produce B/I dishwashers for Gorenje (as do Smeg on the continent) The Bosch + siemens vented interim range was fully comprised of Gorenje line up untill the new design was launched. I belive the base model dryer is still Gorenje produced.

The door and hinge on the Gorenje is designed in a traditional point of fixation on there cabinet. What Smeg request to have modified to suit there design is the hinge point. With a heavier door unloaded and different mounting point, I would expect a problem with the cabinet in time. Perhaps Smeg should request a cabinet modification, or fit one when the doors are being added.

Gorenje produce the basic appliance for Smeg on the retro range (FAB28/30/32). Smeg then add the doors, hinges, sides and roof. Belive it is the doors that are the main problem on them? Andy

Hi, you should be able to release the upper body from the base by pressing the tab (most x1 series) or lifting the release lever (early).

Hi Gertrude, I think GB means that Tecnik are no longer using Siltal washers and are switching to Candy (GIAS) for there laundry range. Bosch do not produce the whole of the Tecnik brand, but manage the full spares and servicing back up. Andy
