Re: Diplomat ADP8500 Suspected faulty pcb

    Thanks Steve,
I monitored the mains switching on and off at the input to the drain pump. Not the circulation pump, which leads me to think its the pcb thats faulty.
Ive cleaned the OWI when I changed the circulation pump.
Does anyone know how reliable these boards are??

    Best Regards

    Hi K,

Yeah was thinking that! I might just have to bite the bullet and order the new heating element. Just trying to get round the £90. January can be a long month haha!

    Cheers.

    Cheers for that,

This morning I have taken the Heating Element out and measured the resistance across the terminals and am getting 25 ohms which I have since worked out is good as the Power rating on the side states 2kW.
Surely if the Heating element was buggered then the resistance across the terminals would be O/C.

However due to the heat form the fault the mains input connections have got too hot and are now open circuit! I was thinking of removing the mains input connector push on plug and putting some spade connectors onto the input (getting around the burnt out plastic connectors)as the heating element doesnt seem to be damaged!
Obviously Id use Heat shrink and good insulation etc.

I know this sounds like a bodge job but as long as I do it all safely its worth ago. before shelling out £100.
What do you reckon, worth a try??
