    OK, now I’m baffled…………..
Took the cover off, checked there were no loose or chafed wires, checked the resistance of the element (27.5 ohms), reassembled the machine and now it’s working perfectly!
Only thing I could see was a little discolouration on the terminals of the heater.
Would a tiny bit of oxidization on a terminal be enough to cause the fault?

p.s. Gegsy, I use Finish powder and use half the measure as per the Bosch instructions.

Re: Vented vs consenser tumble dryers

    No contest.

    Vented every time.

    More efficient and quicker.

Not according to the November issue of Which? magazine – the most energy efficient dryer they tested was a John Lewis JLTDC01.

“This A-rated condenser dryer is one of the best we’ve tested. It’s considerably more energy efficient than any other dryer on test, dries swiftly and evenly…”

Comes with a 3 year guarantee as well.

Although I suspect you used (shall we say?) a little ‘artistic licence’ on the story about the so called “serviceman”…??

    😯 😯 😯
No, that’s exactly what the chap who “freecycled” the machine said had happened, and he wasn’t prepared to fork out around the £200 he was quoted to get it fixed.

    http://www.freecycle.org

“When you want to find a new home for something — whether it’s a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door — you simply send an e-mail offering it to members of the local Freecycle group.

Or, maybe you’re looking to acquire something yourself. Simply respond to a member’s offer, and you just might get it. After that, it’s up to the giver to decide who receives the gift and to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.

Our main rule: Everything posted must be free, legal, and appropriate for all ages.

Non-profit organizations also benefit from The Freecycle Network. Post the item or items you want to give away and specify that you wish the gift to go to a nonprofit cause. It’s entirely your choice! It’s a free cycle of giving.”

    That sums it up!

    Re: Whirlpool/Ikea DWF413W Dishwasher Spares?

Part arrived this morning, fitted within 30 minutes and everything restored to full and watertight working order.
A big thank you to UK Whitegoods for a fast and efficient service, especially as there was New Year to slow things down – no fuss – no frills – just good service.
The local repair man wanted over £160 to repair the machine without even looking at it!
I have already recommended this site to four other people.

    Thanks Again,
    Ian
