    Re: Ariston AFA350 warning light

    Hi

Will check that when I get home tomorrow night. If this is the case then I suspect it’s quite likely the new heater has blown then as well ….. DOh! Why did I not twig that when I fitted the new one!

    Cheers

    Hi

A quick reply with some more information. I’ve removed the new heater and reinstalled to make sure that I have got everything correct. I expected some water to be in this when I removed it – it was dry as bone. Is this to be expected? Doesn’t sound normal to me and could point at a stuck valve instead?

Getting someone in is looking at 100 quid + and with a six year old washer I’m more inclinded to purchase a new one – Miele seem to be the best – anyone pass an opinion on this?

    Cheers

Re: Ariston AFA 350 lower tray not washing properly?

    Hi

Well have tried without the bottom basket and the bottom spray arm does not rotate which indicates that it’s not getting jammed.

I’ve also tried removing the spray arm and placing a dry plastic cup over the inlet for the spray arm – this is forced away from the inlet. I have rechecked the spray arm for blockages by running it under a tap and there is definitely nothing inside it – water flows freely from all of the vents.

I have finally “fooled” it into thinking that the door was closed by poping the door switch in with a small screwdriver and watching what happened (with loads of towels just in case!) expecting a fountain of water to emerge from the inlet. This was not the case implying that the pressure to this is somehow down?

Confused about the fact that it dislodges the plastic cup – could it be a spike of pressure that falls quickly away.

This started to ring bells with something that I’d seen in the manual…. 💡 There is a half load setting that only washes the top tray….. The button was in…. 😳

Apologies for all who spent time helping – do appriciate all of your efforts though!

    Cheers

    Hi

Thanks for the advice. Have unscrewed it and checked it. There was a piece of stalk in the end of one hole and have cleared it. Water flows OK through it when I run it under the tap.

It’s still not working though – I’ve reattached and placed the spray arm in a starting position and it doesn’t appear to be rotating. It moves freely enough if I manually spin it.

Is it blocked further inside? It’s starting to sound expensive ….. 😕
