I have checked the compressor and the outside does feel hot,its not hot enough where it would burn my hand though. Is it possable for me to change the thermostat myself and what sort of money is envolved with buying one?

How will i know if the compressor is actually doing anything,I turned the stat on the fridge down to 1 last night but the temp still remained at 8 degrees, whether it is at 1 or 5 it makes no bearing on the temp.

The motor appears to be switching on and off correctly,The fan at front must work in conjunction with the main motor at the back,ie they both come on at the same time.Have you any ideas of what could be wrong if the compressor is working correctly?

Ok thanks for that.I have now pulled the fridge out and looking at the compressor,I assume this should switch its self on and off.Have you any idea how long the motor will run for before clicking back off, just so i know if i do have a problem.

I’ve removed the ventilation panel from the front of the fridge and i can see a motor with fan there,is this the motor you are talking about? Also, this might a stupid question but what should the internal temperature of the fridge be if i set the unit to 5,its coolest setting? Thanks again
