    Re: Ageing Engineers

I retired at the age of 65 and a I am glad that I did as within the first year I was hospitalised for a total of 11 days. Now if I had been this repairing washing machines the business would have suffered badly as it took more than six weeks to get any where able to continue working. So think what your body can handle as you work beyond a certain age.

When I was working, some years back and Philco was a good brand name, customers were being told that Philco was Curry’s own brand!

I agree, probably your mother has cut the capilary tube that runs up to the thermostat.

I assume that there is no water in the base! Take the left hand panel of and see if theair break is clean if not clean. When you refit that part you have had the water turned of, do not turn it back on untill the machine has asked for it then only turn it on a wee bitee. I hope this might work.

This argument is not new as it always rear it’s head every year or so. Being a retired white goods Tech/Engineer I would say you are correct but would you say to me, now that am general Joe public that I cannot have the technical info so that I can repair my wife’s ISE10.

Re: ISE 10 1607 Door Lock Change

Before I retired I found the same problem was solved by undoing the screw that holds the emergency door open handle down by the pump filter works.
