Do not forget that every thing found in any machine is still the owners!

went to a hotpoint some years ago with the problem of not pumping out (to long) removed the filter and found 12 x 22 bullets (live but safe)and a gold watch. As soon as the customer saw the watch she burst into tears and told me that she had lost her mothers watch some years back and thought she would never see it again. O/K the working may have been no good but the case and band were as new.

Not hearing it my self it sounds like you might as well through the machine away as I am thinking a part has come adrift from the inner drum.

    James,

    STOP!

May I suggest that you try and find where the jamming particul is and I should think that it could be at the heating element, so remove heater and have a look. I do hope that you have pulled the plug from the socket.

    Vito

I still sounds like the condesor as it is not condensing correctly. You say it is in a cupboard, this is not a good idea as you need cooler air around the machine for it to work at its best, yes I know it has been in there for some time but as it gets a bit older the condensor clogs up wee bity.

Before we go any futher any advice I give you is in good faith. Pull the plug of the machine and clear ALL the water from within the machine. Then pull the machine and put it on it’s back have a look around the large motor if no sighns of arking put on its feet and try to find a way to the impelor and see if any thing is jamming it. Thinking about it I would do this first.

You should be able to hear it also you should hear the water going round the machine.

You are using the word EXPLODE I think incorrectly in this case as EXPLODE would mean some sort of combustable matirial had done just that, so I would say it has disintegrated and nothing more.

But if you are a DASA member I believe that Connect will give you a garantee for one year.
