    Thanks for the reply.

The compressor gets hot so I assume its working, so sounds like a call to an engineer.

    Re: Hotpoint TDC62

Having looked closer I’m now thinking the strip has slipped round the drum.

I have noticed there is a hole in the insulation between the strip and the drum big enough for the sensor holder support and a hole in the strip for the thread of the sensor.

The dryer was being used without the sensor in place for a while so I think this allowed the strip to move around the drum and also across the drum which is why the sensor is now a 1/4 of a turn from the hole it’s supposed to go in and 1cm clear of the strip, so no connection from the sensor to the strip.

    Can you confirm?

    Re: Hotpoint TDC62

    Thanks, that makes sense.

Current from drum through clothes to sensor, to strip on the outside of drum, to brush, to module.

So I do seem to be missing a part as there is no connection from the sensor to the strip on the outside of the drum, the sensor is totally isolated electrically.

I’ll have a look and see if I can find some more bits in the bottom of the dryer but as I didn’t notice anything before is there a part number I need to order?

    Re: Hotpoint TDC62

Parts have now arrived, great service as 3 of them were not stock items and the festive holidays. 😀

    Looks straight forward to fit.

Sensor head slots into holder and goes inside the drum through the hole. The sensor holder support goes on the outside of the drum over the protruding thread and the nut on top of the support (not in the hole of the support) holds it all in place.

The cutouts are no problem, I’ve changed them before.

However I don’t want to turn it all back on and risk blowing the cutouts again, as the sensor is not connected to anything, how does it work? 😕

Am I missing some parts or does it work in some way I can’t see?

I did ask SHMBO about that, she says she hasn’t found any bits. I have found a nut and a white washer that it fits in, in the bottom of the dryer.

Thanks for your help and the part numbers.

I’ve had a look around this site, are they available from here?
