    Quick update, Penguin45 – you were right, communication error between the boards. Engineer has had a look, he thinks it’s not the wiring so will replace both boards. They should be here by the weekend!

    Thanks Penguin45 – I feared I would have to pay the £90, at least I have a parts guarantee.

    I will also be writing to the shop I bought it from, claiming that the machine was not of “satisfactory quality.” I’m pretty sure I can make a case that a £260 tumble dryer should last longer then 366 days.
