I had no idea things have got to that stage. I remember selling the likes of Bosch in the old days, a good company with good ethics. I am a bit shocked TBH. Oh well, it is what it is. So it doesn’t really matter which brand then. As long as it has features I want. Makes it simple I suppose.

Not sure how the machine can dose for the soil level of the clothes tbh, I suppose one advantage is it stops overdosing which many do in the mistaken belief it’ll clean better. I like LG machines as they filter the powder before it enters the drum, so its fully dissolved. and the way they rinse gets much more of the detergent out of the clothing. Which is my one of my requirements in any machine. Oh, the other thing is LG uses the inverter motor to directly drive the drum unlike the majority of other brands with still use a belt between the two. More reliable if no belt to snap, slip, stretch.

LG Direct drive, superbly quiet, large drums and load capacity. All brands suffer from issues these days, even legendary ones like Miele, although I’d hazard a guess not as frequently as some. I used to work in the white goods retail industry until recently. My opinion is from feedback from the thousands of customers I spoke to.
