    Jim.

    😆 😆 😆

Things not too much better over here in Ireland, Jim.

    Have fun.

    Sounds like a summer project.

    Thanks for the replies

iadom wrote:If the bearing you can see from the back behind the pulley is goosed then your machine is in a very bad way. That is the smaller, rear bearing. There is another much larger bearing at the front of the shaft inside the drum. The alloy tube holding the bearings is moulded into the drum rear half.

A good chance that the main drum shaft is already damaged beyond repair.

A long, time consuming, very expensive repair TBH.

Aahhhh… and here was me wondering where the other bearing was. It’s completely disappeared!!!

So, let’s say I’m a complete masochist, iadom. It sounds like I have to completely dismantle the drum in order to remove the old bearings. Am I right?

The way I look at these things is that it’s broken already – how much more worse can I make it??? 😆

I’ve never been to freaked out by a frowny emoticon before!!!

Care to elaborate, Martin? Am I entering a world of pain or am I getting close to the end?
