i have just put a thermometer in it and it only cools down to 6degrees
i have another fridge and it says 3 deegrees in there
the fridge has been running for several hours none stop
to me thats sound like i was wrong in the thermostat and maybe it needs regassing as its not getting cold enough
is it a case of chucking it away?

replaced thermostat with new one still doing the same

it can freeze things if they are right at the back of the fridge
otherwise things are very cold in there even if the contol is set to minimum
