Re: BOSCH SMS 65 Spray arms not turning. Dishes not clean.

    The m/c no is SMS6502GB-07.

Lack of water? It seems to fill up OK and the dishes appear wet and it does wash them a bit. What puzzles me is the spray arms no longer turn. They are free and unblocked but something is wrong.

What tests or info do you need?

Should I check the pump impeller is turning as the little video on the BOSCH web site?

    Hi Boro,

Your suggested repairer only gives 30 min of repair time for £60 plus VAT. Then they charge on every 6 mins on top. Strip down and rebuild would need a mortgage and they said chuck it out and buy a new m/c.

Dave Conway of UKWG gave me Capital repairs who charge £57 incl VAT and they will battle on for this sum until the job is done plus parts. They are coming tomorrow. I am petrified but have bitten the bullet and will report back. Pray for some good luck.

    Thanks Boro,

I took the hose off the trap at the sink and just hung it in the sink to ensure that their was no syphoning back. The hose is clear as I can blow down it.

There is no spigot to forget to cut the end off. The hose connects to the female screw fitting using a rubber joining piece using 2 jubilee clips.

All the plumbing worked fine before.

The motor is working because the water sprays OK inside the m/c.

It just will not empty out.

Time to look at a replacement slimline. the UKWG forums suggest that Siemens, Neff and Bosch are a good balance of price/quality/reliability. 5 year warranties are included free with Siemens SF24T250GB so can anyone comment on this choice, give alternatives to look at? Looks a good deal at £350 inc VAT, Delivery and 5yr warranty.

Electrical health warning noted and heeded and access challenge noted. I’ll try what I can. I sprung off the white kick plate as it was a puh on fit. It rotates upwards. Then I was faced with a blank white plastic panel. I took the side T20’s out and the blank panel pulled off to the front. All I have now is another white plastic panel which is anchored by a galvanised metal pressed panel along the top edge full width. In the centre of the white panel is a hole and this has an up and down arrow and a rotate arrow. I guess you insert a long screw driver in here to turn the pump. Tried a variety of cross heads and ordinary drivers but cannot lock on and you are totally blind.

I will try to remove the galvanised panel. You seem to be able to get at the 2 screws by opening the door.

I might be able to get a socket onto the impeller by working in the sump that holds the cylindrical filter in the centre of the base. If that does not work have you any other suggestions. You were right it is tough access!

    Chris
