ParticipantRe: Panasonic NR-B53VW1
NO ICE. I decided to buy the Panasonic NR-B53V1, same as above except in silver. This replaces a Whirlpool side by side. The Panasonic was delivered last week on 4th June. I was immediately impressed with the quality and the interior LED lighting. All far superior to the Whirlpool. I connected the water supply using the same connection I had used for the Whirlpool. Twenty four hours later I discovered ice was not being produced although filtered water was available. After reading the Instruction Manual several times I phoned Panasonic and followed all the phone options and found myself talking to a third party service centre. It was obvious they had no idea either. However, they ordered a new part which arrived by post a few days later. An engineer arrived yesterday and fitted a new ice maker and spent an hour checking everything over. He left saying I would have a container full of ice this morning. I did not! Still no ice. Then I remembered the Instruction Manual mentions water pressure and a minimum of 22 psi So I increased the mains pressure by opening the stop cock fully. I now have a steady supply of ice. The Whirlpool was OK with the earlier pressure but the Panasonic needs more.
