    thanks to you all for replying. i got the filter out and there was a strip of plastic in there blocking it. now it is washing again and i didn’t have to pay a call out fee!

    on the rinse part of the cycle the drum was turning fine. no the machine is sat there full of water now and wont drain it just makes the noise.

    my question is whether it is worth me calling out someone to repair it if they will only tell me that it costs too much to bother to repair it and i still have to pay £50 call out for them to do nothing. it cost less than £200

    i looked up the fault of the clicking round dial on this website as it seems to be a common fault but no on else had posted the exact circumstances with the noise on trying to empty the drum accompanying it.
