I can’t find a edit feature so here is an update.

I found the pressure switch, it was hidden away on the right hand side. I found it easier to take off the right side casing of the machine then you can run it up and still get to things. I took the pipe off blew through it from the switch end and could hear it blowing out at the other end. I run it up a few times with the side off and could hear the switch click as it was filling, it didn’t throw up the error so hopefully it has cleared the fault. I kept some bits out of our old dishwasher which was also a hotpoint but the switch had a different plug on it.

What I meant to type was from what I have read from people with similar faults is the pipe to the pressure switch gets blocked……

Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

I don’t know if anyone looks a t this forum anymore but I’ll try asking. My freezer has started freezing solid which I suspect is either the heating element in the back of the freezer or the timer. I fully defrosted the frozen coils and the fridge worked for about 2 weeks then it was frozen up again. I measured the element and it showed around 80 ohms not sure what a good value is. Where is the defrost timer circuit, is it a mechanical timer or some electronics on one of the boards if so which board and how do I test it?

Just if anyone cares it dropped to 3.8Mohm when hot so looks like I’m ordering a heating element.

I had the clicking on my freeze from the front board and flashing lights on he front panel. I changed the capacitors on the back board but it didn’t do anything for me. If you are still having trouble Email me I might be able to help out.

Hello, I’m having issues with my whirlpool S20E. It started clicking and flashing a while ago when using the water dispenser which I got the capacitor kit for but it didn’t make any difference. It has got progressively worse and started clicking when opening the fridge and now has a click at any time which can be stopped by turning it off and on again.

All I can really say is the clicking comes from the buzzer BZ1 and the only voltages present is 4.5 volts on the orange and white wire on the 3 wire connector and 240 volts coming in on brown and blue from the other side. The front board is 04TP800210G SWR2 with box 1 x’ed out.

I have turned the unit back on again and it alarmed to say freezer is too hot and it’s not clicking 😕 but once the display is back to normal it clicks again!!!!!!!!!!

If it’s a matter of changing capacitors I’m more than capable of doing any soldering. I just don’t know where to start.
