Re: AEG 57560 TUMBLE dryer not heating the air

This could be it as we have a visitor using the machine over the past week and I believe it has been checked on regularly. May not have fully cleaned the filter either. This coincidence suggests that it is the cause.

On looking again I am able to see that they are thermal fuses and both are open circuit. I can also see evidence of over heating on the inside of the heater surround. So it is a new heater which is required. It is 5 years old.

I do not plan on checking the front bearing as there is very little fluff in any other part of the machine, including around other parts of the machine which I know from other posts usually get a bit clogged up, so it seems unlikely to be the cause.

I had just cleaned the condenser the previous week so now I wonder if somehow I had refitted it incorrectly but it certainly clicked into place as usual and it looks fine with no evidence of fluff in its chamber. I will re-fit it again just in case.

Thanks for all the assistance which has been most helpful.

Agreed. I always ensure the machine is disconnected, unplugged, etc.. The dust build up was not large but I have cleaned it out. The rest of the inside of the machine is almost dust free although I’ll take your tip to clean out every 12 months.

I did check the heating elements and thermostat with a meter. Both were continuous. However, there are 2 components on the heating board itself, right beside the elements, which look like rectifying diodes. Both of these are open circuit in both directions which suggests a fault. They may also be circuit breakers where again open circuit indicates a fault. Are you aware of their purpose?

Re: How to replace Drum Paddle in an AEG LL1620 washing mach

I managed to get a diagram on how to fit it. Access can be gained via the hose to the filter but still a bit of a hassle.

In reality though the screw is not required. I guess they supply it as it is tricky to fit the paddle with the central metal lugs clipping into place to lock it. I managed to fit it by raising the lugs about 20 degrees then tapping the end of the paddle with a rubber mallet (via a 1″ x 1″ cross-section of wood to reach inside the machine). It clicked into place and is now pretty much immovable in teh same was as the original paddle, which had to be broken to remove it.

I reckon the screw is supplied as an additional safe guard in case the central clips do not lock properly into place. Thus the key consideration is to only raise the central clips slightly to allow the paddle to slide over them when being fitted. 🙂

I received the repalcement part but the new one comes with a small screw. Your sales dept. sent a PDF diagram which implies that the outside of the drum has to be accessed to fir this screw, which would be a real hassle. Is this essential as the previous paddle simply clipped into place? Any further insights would be most helpful! 😕

What a relief! I thought I might have to access the other side of the drum or some other obscure procedure. the PNR is 914525343.

You say they are ‘push and slide’ so to remove I slide to the dront of teh machine or the back? they then lift out?

Thanks for your fast response. Most impressive. 😀
