ParticipantRe: Electrue/NESN
I think I have the Gist of this
A work provider with a nationwide network of agents lands a big contract ,They then sell it to their agents as the next big thing persuading them to expand accordingly ,take extra stock etc .
your work spread thens end up lets say 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} income from this big wonderful contract The other 40 {e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}is whats left .
The supplier of the 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} then has a falling out with the provider of the remaining 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} over which you have no control (the falling out )
question is where do you go, with the 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or the 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.
Normally you would follow the money but you cant ,Because the very people that persuaded you to take the 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} are now telling you that you will breach there contract with them ,But thats ok because they have got more work ready to take the place of your 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} loss (dont forget they encouraged you to take it on in the first place )NOT!!
you never know the provider of the 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} may look further than the end of their bonnet and realise if they pursue the breach of contract route they may well have nobody left to service their remaining 40{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d},Not because they have jumped ship but because they have been driven out of business!!Unbelievable !!
I dont think either party comes out particularly well in this ,And my heart goes out to the guys that are stuck between a rock and a hard place

ParticipantRe: Female logic???
For those that saw room 101 last week ,there was a really good example of this ,It goes ..
Woman tells man that the item he wants is on the right hand shelf of the cupboard ,He looks and cannot find it .
He goes back to woman who says “Oh let me look ” she goes to same cupboard ,same shelf and lo & behold its bloody well there!
This happens in my house with alarming regularity

GraceCourt wrote: I wonder if there are any beancounters at DD who could calculate the impact of the easy profits on these items against lost repeat sales??
I too am a DD agent and have had many discussions ref these knobs,
I am afraid The bean counters dont seem to see things in the same way as the rest of us.
That combined with the fact that most housing developments seem to have DD appliances as standard ,And they are not sold by the multiples i.e Currys etc
They work to a different agenda to most manufacturers .
Unfortunately I Imagine they think that for every one sale they will lose they will gain a whole housing estate
I know this doesn’t help you but believe me when I say there is nothing more embarassing than having to justify obscene part prices ,And having no say over them .

I must confess I even used to make a small proffit on the work, Which like so many of my trade coleauges, I would duley plough back into my business to improve the quality of service that I provided to all my customers both corporate and private.
Went there it was called mastercare who had a fantastic team in Nottingham ,Then they were shafted like the rest of us
Then- 6 engineers 2 office staff 🙁
Now – Me ,1 sub and the office at homewith wife manning phone 😀guess which one I prefer

Ah yes…. a Beko! 😆K.
LOL 😆 you’ve obviously forgotten the Teba fridge we used to repair/condemn for mastercare! what was the rrp £39.99 ?or something
Its going to be a Merloni base product if its integrated I would have thought Try Smeg or failing that try Servis sales they might be able to help 01215688333

p.s if you buy a servis it will come with a new CDRom telling you where to return it when it goes wrong! 🙄

ParticipantRe: Warranty Repairs & Warranties
Can the subject of what is a recall and what isnt come up here ?
Apparently one manufacturer insists that when you carry out a repair on their product then you warranty it for 90 days not your repair but the whole damn appliance!! 😡 If a fault occurs within 3 mths you then get recalled at your cost ! 😥
Alright if its once in a blue moon but Given the build quality of some of the lower end appliances this surely cant be tenable for much longer can it?
What about intermittent faults ?
Also when I carry out a repair I have always given 12 mths warranty parts and labour I am seriously re considering this due to the quality of some of the components in machines these daysRegards

I have to say that I have sympathy for the SF guys, rest assured many of us out here aren’t over the moon at inheriting your work, but maybe it will go away like the last scheme put forward by GB.
I Echo That ,
