    Re: Whirlpool pump light on

    The machine stops.
Switching it off at the mains is the only way to get the red light off and be able to open the door. It washes the clothes but the red pump light come on I think during or at the start of the spin cycle. The machine still has water in which has to be drained out by unscrewing the pump filter.

The mrs tells me it leaks right from the beginning of the wash cycle, but she isn’t sure if it is during the fill cycle or when the machine starts to wash. She will be using it later this evening so I’ll watch to see what is happening.

RH23: The machine is level & it was working fine on our water pressure, but I will try turning it down a bit, thanks.

Just tried it & it leaked shortly after it started to fill up, before it started to wash.
The washer is in a utility room which has its own water main. I turned the stopcock back a few turns but it still leaked unfortunately.

After the machine finished filling up I dried the front & then trapped a piece of tissue along the bottom of the drawer. Through the rest of the wash rinse & spin cycle the tissue stayed dry so it looks like it only leaks during the initial fill up.

notice you didnt tell us what you replaced it with

After reading the manufacturers section on here the wife couldn’t decide which make to go for because the section writers didn’t have a lot of good to say about any of them.
Expensive parts, hard to service, poor after sales & other negative comments seemed to narrow it down to a Zanussi, a Bosch or a Miel
We ended up with a Whirpool. 😯

It was in stock & the price was very good. No doubt I’ll be back in just over 12 months time asking for advice when this one claps out. 🙁

    Cyas then Dave G.

    Penguin45.

The recovery didn’t last long, 2 loads later & once again no spin. A couple of loads after that it started again, then again stopped spinning completlely.
I removed the module & checked it for tracking, burnt contacts & any soldered joints that didn’t look sound.
I couldn’t see anything wrong with it so put it back & decided to give up.
We’ve now bought a new machine, the scrapman can have the servis.
Anyway thanks for everybodies contribution & help, it was appreciated.

    Re: No spin

    Hi again.
The spin has started working again.
The wife is still using the machine (till we get another next week) & she has just been wringing the washing out by hand then hanging them out.
Tonight the machine is spinning again though it does seem to be vibrating more then it normally does.
If the fault is on the module, a burnt out or dud component, why would it suddenly start to work again?

    Re: No spin

Some interesting stuff on those links. If I’d read them prior to buying the machine I wouldn’t have bought it. Infact I wouldn’t have touched any Servis machine.
Ah well, you live & learn. Dave G.

    Re: No spin

The wife is now thinking about replacing the machine because buying a new module might be throwing good money after bad.
I’ll def avoid Servis in future, for what it has been used the machine should have lasted longer then that.
Manufacturers are happy to sell you rubbish but they must realise that you will never buy anymore of their products. Plus, by telling friends & relatives that their stuff is crap, these manufacturers could be losing more then one future customer.
We had an Indiset for years which never had a fault but was replaced because it looked tatty & the spin speed was low. I wish we had kept it now.

Thanks for all help Dave G.

    Re: No spin

The machine takes in water normally & does the wash without any problems.
It then pumps all the water out before going into its slow spin routine.
All the programmes seem to work apart from the spin cycle.
The filter is clear I checked that when this first started to happen & have just checked it again just incase.

    Re: No spin

    Hi.
    The model number is “m6516w”
Looking around this forum & others i’ve found that the problem can be caused by the machine thinking that there is still water in the drum even when it’s empty. Could this be my problem
I’m hoping it’s nothing to do with the electronics which I assume is what the module is, DDSDDS.
    Thanks again Dave G.
