    Re: Hotpoint Ultima TDC62

How would I know if the motor capacitor is failing- if the motor turns the drum and fan etc that all seems to be working fine.
This tumble dryer is about 7 years old, maybe its time to get a new one, as maybe its just wearing out now and things are just going to keep breaking? Ive seen a zanussi for £189- would this be worth considering or should I spend more- I only ever use one setting so I don’t need anything fancy!

Theres no way to reset the stat that I can see. I assume by the heat light you mean ‘drying’ light. This is off until I press start then it comes on, goes off when it reverses and on again when it goes back. Does that mean the dryness module is ok?

De fluffed everywhere, condensr, filter – I even took the sides off and cleaned everything so air flow should be good. The motor action seems fine- turning clockwise then briefly anticlockwise with no delay.
When testing by over riding the stats the dryer was set on a high heat.
