Re: Domestic appliances – reliability and design

So here’s my spin on this subject.
I’ve yet to look at any Chinese product and thought to myself, “what a great bit of well engineered kit”
In my opinion all Chinese domestic appliances are pony.

Also any washing machine that doesn’t inform the user that the load inside is out of balance or evenly distributed to allow it to spin should be on the list of badly designed machines.

It’s fine if you are an engineer directly employed by the manufacturer because you get paid regardless of what you find but as a private engineer or contractor who only gets paid to repair broken machines it is difficult to charge for this when there is nothing wrong with the appliance, just they way it was designed.

    Hi John
Its not the zodiac style pcb that have the group of resistors to cut out. The part number is 481221458447. It does have a plug in it which I dreaded might be a coding port
    Cheers

I must admit, knowing it was a sales rep shouting their mouth off I’m not concerned anymore. However I do have a bag full of crack that is no longer required. Comes with its own pipe and a dog on a string.
    Cheers!

Re: Domestic and General cutting agents

Just what I was thinking, have they given an indication of when this might happen?
This would be a very bad thing for me if it does happen. No go-karting or booze up at Tynley hall every October!
not to mention i’d be living in a cardboard box, smoking crack within 6 months.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be in top 3 teq awards for last 4 years running so fingers crossed it ain’t me that gets axed!

Was that meeting with LM? I have a really good working relationship with them but haven’t heard a peep about it, as one of the very few decent providers out there I really hope it is short term.
They did do this a few years ago when the whirlpool work was pulled and passed directly to whirlpool.

Thanks for the info. This one has no fault code, just shows END and can’t reset. Possible door lock switch?

JUST TO CLARIFY AGAIN I DIDN’T START THIS THREAD AS “COMET ENGINEERS” IT WAS A VALID POINT ON A PREVIOUS SUBJECT

    Re: Comet Engineers

It wasn’t a wind up. I didn’t create a new topic but my orginal post had a small amount of relevance to the original thread. Only in my experience that particular engineer was costing me too much money in un-required parts on a fixed fee contract (it was a good payer if done properly) I probably didn’t explain that very well, if that way of working was common with comet engineers then it would be costing comet a lot more in parts costs than neccessary and could be a major contributor to any financial problems comet may have on their service side of the business.
It wasn’t a direct pop at all comet engineers. Apologies to those 6 who were offended

    Re: LG WM10260T washing machine

I have had this before when the bearing kits have fitted but aren’t the exact right size. It took me 5 extra visits before I re-stripped the machine down and found the depth of the outer bearing to be different than the original.
