    Re: D&G PORTAL SYSTEM

Thanks for your replies gents. I feel this is going backwards in terms of technology use aswell. I’ve trolled through the App Store but can find no mobile version of the portal which means going back to printing individual jobs or duplicating each D&G job and then adding them to our cloud system to then sync with engineers iPads.
I guess first time fix rate will tumble as a large number of their jobs are for things like door seals, handles and interior fridge parts which usually can be pre-ordered when we take the calls. I also wonder how many job notes will be already on the job i.e. – avoid 8am to 9am, 10-11 and afternoon school run making each call harder to attend.
We’ll see how it pans out when we go live but I see trouble ahead!

“My husband thinks it needs new BUSHES”

“I bet you’ve seen some right sights” (standing in a sh*thole house with holes in the doors and ceiling)

“I always keep my oven clean” (opening door to see an assortment of charcoal chips on the base)

Me “what make is the machine?” customer “its a Berko, no a L&G no wait, its a…. I’m sorry I dont know, my wife uses it.”

“You said you’d ring me” me – “I did, your phone was engaged for 2 hours” cust – “oh yeah, I was on the phone to my sister in Ireland”

Re: Daewoo american fridge freezer not freezing ice

yeah, bizarre symptons as showing -19 and bread and ice cream frozen. yet the water in the ice maker is still liquid. i assumed customer has pressed the ice maker test button just before the visit.
    Model is frsu20dcb
Have done many freezer fans but usually the temp would be part of the reported fault.
I’ve had the module cause ice maker issues too which is why it was also replaced.
I might just fit a fan motor in case it is failing under load.
Have you had any wiring issues with these?

    Thanks,
I’ve got a username and password now – a kind account manager at connect got it for me.

I just need Samsung and LG now! Any thoughts how I can get these?

Re: Regas fridges yes or no

I’ve just booked my F-gas course for next month as i also think too many units are being scrapped/written off with system or compressor faults.
There is good money to be made on AMFF and integrated fridge-freezers.

Well that’s what I think, hopefully at least one other person agrees so I feel better about the F-gas course expense!!

Yep, can’t even access the WTA forum as I do not have authorisation.
    £70 wasted I think.
I might start my own trade association instead.

Re: Domgen Work Goes To Connect

£20? Ha Ha, You’ve got to chuckle, how long until it all starts filtering back to the network as D&G customers complain about service levels.
You can only give a service which is equal to the payment recieved and at £20, their jobs would be at the bottom of the priority list.

    I’VE SIGNED 🙁
What a sad day for my business, I’d always said I’d never work for companies who properly take the pi$$.
They started to lose my respect when the service support management changed a couple of years ago.
What a shame they are going down the same road as all the other money grabbing work providers.
I’m a big believer of Karma so I hope this comes back to bite them.
However, Karma won’t run a business!

    Re: D&G Contract

Exactly! although its the guarantee period I the biggest problem with.
Connect give 90 days, Masterpart 6 months (no guarantee on any pcb’s) yet we’re expected to honour a guarantee for 12 months when most of the appliances are cheap chinese rubbish.
I’m getting more jobs coming in after 7-12 months especially failing oven elements and Beko modules that I have to supply part FOC and can get no credit for original part.
Surely everyone else has noticed this?
    WTF!!
