ParticipantRe: Squeeling Spin Cycle
Sorry to hijack this, but our Hoover WDYNS654D is also making a squealing noise at the start of the cycle – it usually fades out as the cycle progresses.
While I don’t think there is anything stuck in the space between the drum and tub, is there a way to remove a paddle to have a better look?

@don:Would you play Devil’s advocate and bring out a ISE Washer Dryer? 😀

They are apparently made in China by a company called Midea.

It kind of reminds me of when I read about the disintegrating Candy/Hoovers:

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD860 Drying Problem
The problem is that our kitchen is so small that there is no room for a separate dryer (though something portable like this could do http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-table-Top-Tumble-Dryer-TPTD120-OFFER-/120527606398?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Kitchen_Washing_Machines_Dryers).
Space is so tight that we are still considering getting another compact washing machine to make the most of the space. If we do get a washer dryer then it will be a Miele.

It’s such a shame.
When we looking for a temporary washer I did notice that the drums in the Hotpoint, Idensit and even some Haiers were the same.
When we eventually get our kitchen done I did consider a Hotpoint Washer Dryer but based off what I’ve seen on here I won’t touch them (or anything else branded Hotpoint or Indesit) with a bargepole!

Apart from the badge and external appearance, is there any difference between a Hotpoint and an Indesit?

ParticipantRe: Eudora compact washing machine
No worries 🙂
Apparently there also intended for general usage, and seem to be reasonably popular in Central and Eastern Europe with people putting them under their bathroom sinks (not a good idea IMHO!).
The UK price is quite high, considering they can go for roughly £500-£700 new in Austria and Germany.

The only place where I can find them in the UK is here for £790: http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/general-chandlery/eumenia/euronova-1000-washing-machine641461.bhtml
What is nice about them is that they are slimmer and narrower then the Zanussi compact. The old Bendix has a pretty strange wash action and a pretty wild spin too!
I live in Northumberland.
