    Re: Slim Washer Dryer

No problem. The Hoover was noisy and not very stable. The tub would hit itself off the front and back of the cabinet, despite being on a stable floor and level.

I can’t comment on the AEG however I’m sure some other members will be able to give their opinion on them.

Candy/Hoover do a 44cm deep Washer Dryer. I had the Hoover badged one a few years ago and wouldn’t recommend it.

The AEG L75670WD washer dryer is 52.2cm deep

I had a Siemens IQ300 WD that dried pretty well, but the main issue was capacity. We now have a SMEG freestanding WD thats also pretty good (and has a slightly larger capacity too).

To slightly contradict the advice given in the “Buying A Washer Dryer” article, do not touch Hoover with a bargepole, I had a hellish experience with them.

We had a X4 and it didn’t pick up very well on our short pile carpet, we have a Miele S7 and that’s brilliant on our carpet. My step dads mum now has our X4 and it works better on her carpet that has a deeper pile.

That’s better, and the warmer background looks good too 🙂

The new site looks good, but the only thing is that the orange text has poor contrast on a white background.

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

Another engineer came and it wasn’t in his notes that the machine was to be replaced. After getting in touch with the store, the person who told Hoover Candy that the machine should be replaced said I have to submit in writing that the machine should be replaced to Currys CS 👿

The engineer replaced the heating element as the seal was failing. You can also see where the drum was rubbing against it. Despite replacing the element, the drum is still making the Squeaky/Ratcheting sound and the machine still makes the same rattling noise during its spin as well.

I’ve called them out and they will replace the machine if they find any faults (its just turned 4 months old now).

Just noticed that the ratachting sound in the drum has started again 😥 it’s ether callout number 4 or give Currys a ring.

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

Well there is now a new issue with it; on the spin cycle it now makes a new rattling noise. I’ve made another video but it doesn’t capture how loud the noise actually is.

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

An update, after complaining the engineer came straight back to check the machine. Unfortunately it didn’t make the noise as it was mid way through a cycle.

However, he did take a look inside and took out and re inserted the heater and it seems to be OK now.

It still rattles and shakes during the spin (it is level though) but I suppose beggars can’t be choosers. 🙂

    Cheers,

For a comparison, I’ve also recored what the drum sounds like after the drying cycle, but it is usually the same after a washing cycle as well:

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

No bras have been washed in the machine. I have tried to look between the holes with a torch before and I couldn’t see anything.

Could it be possible to remove a paddle to have a better look?

It’s drying at the moment and the sound has subsided.

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

I’ve had the same person twice now – the first time I called them out he didn’t seem too bothered that after a rather nasty out of balanced spin it had dented the rear panel and a bit concrete off the counterweight had broke off and wedged its self in the drain cover.

I’ve made a video of the drum noise, if anyone wants to look:

I know one thing for sure, its lesson learned for me. 😳

Re: Hoover WDYNS 654D Squeaky/Ratcheting drum

Something else, my partners previous flat they rented included a Servis Washer Dryer that the same sort noise (only difference was that it made it throughout the wash cycle apart form the spin) someone came out to look at it and said the belt was on its way out.

Putting two and two together, would it be safe to say that the Hoover has the same issue?

    Cheers
