Pleased to say Dave that the switching bank was the problem (£23 delivered the Hoover/Candy part wasn’t available on ‘ukwhitegoods’), the biggest problem was the holes (for wires) in the stainless inner casing being faaaaaaaar too small, had to take one out to get one in, if you know what I mean. Working fine now. Thanks for your input otherwise I would have bought a Lamona (wrong) part.

Yeah sorry Dave its a connection block and the switch bank operates as you say…..so I either 1) get a sparky in to diagnose and buy/fit needed part/s…..2) take a gamble that its the switch bank and replace (about £20) 3) get a new hood……penny for your thoughts?

Yeah thanks Dave its a Howdens kitchen. A guy at a local appliance repair shop said it was coming up on his laptop as a rebadged Hoover….how do I upload the pics? as it keeps saying file size too big. Its just a cheap digi camera.
