    OK Hotpoint service call it is then (and start saving my pennies for a decent machine).

    I’ve got a rook rather than a rick but have met ‘The indestructible one’ several times over the years at local gigs.

    Thanks Jim. I’ve not done exhaustive tests but Timed drying has aways worked as expected, sensor drying was the one that was troublesome. Have rung the shop I bought it from and he said that it may be possible to ‘reset the sensor’ by taking the top off and there’s a red or blue reset button visible ? (mind you he was ‘hands free’ in the van at the time so couldn’t visualise this particular model).

    Looks like I’ll need to disassemble the kitchen unit (the price you pay for integrateds) and drag the thing out, if no joy then at least it’ll be accessible for the Hotpoint engineer.
