Ok thanks. Yes, water flow to machine is fine and I’ve checked the pipe, filter etc on the inlet. guess I’d better try changing the valves and hope that’s the fix.

Yes, as per the post I checked the resistance of them. Is there anything else I can check other than the resistance, and do you think the readings above sound ok? Dave

Yeah, works perfectly now thanks! The machine is not that old, maybe 3 years or so? What’s bizarre is that people in the know (I.e. the helpful chap on here) have obviously been told that there’s a known fault that develops in certain models yet I as a customer am not informed of anything and then expected to fix it at my own cost when it goes wrong. Anyway, rant over, it works now, I’ll let you all know the next time it breaks down!

So I finally got round to looking into this tonight and you’re absolutely right – the wiring to this sensor was open circuit on both wires. My machine is not exactly as per the photo but I identified the right bits and started stripping back the black stuff and noticed a few kinks. As there are no easily accessible terminal blocks to check continuity I decided to take the plunge and cut the wires suitably far away from the kinks. This allowed me to check and I was amazed (and thankful!) to find both wires open circuit. So I started taking off the black stuff and after a while both wires pulled clean out of it, just like that – luckily there was a good length left on the wires connected to the sensors so I’ve only had to put one join in. It was clear that the wires had been broken for quite some time, definitely not something caused by me. Only thing I don’t know is whether there are any further problems down the line – as I previously said, accessible terminal blocks for testing are not easy to come by! Machine currently on test, let’s see what happens. Thanks for your help. Dave

Hi Dave, where would you got to ‘look it up’? I’ve not had much luck doing internet searches and the manual obviously doesn’t help.

also, any advice about how to access the condenser?
