ParticipantRe: Hotpoint HS3022VL – As low as -4.5c
SO I bit the bullet and ordered the smart card and reader that they said I needed to program the thermostatic board.
They arrived this morning.
Can anybody help me find serial port J7 on my fridge as I can’t see where I plug the reader in!

Shortly after making the post I called Hotpoint and was happy to discover that they do indeed ship the board pre-programmed!
Of course, the sales person did not know what they were talking about and it soon became evident that they are not pre-programmed.
Wasted time and money because of their initial mistake and they are not the slightest bit interested in atoning for their errors – although more than happy to sell me on card reader for over £100 which will have about 10 seconds use!!

If I unplug the microswitch/float will that cause it to always stop the machine, or do the opposite and ignore the ‘flood’ test?
In other words if it’s the cause and I unplugged it, would the dishwasher then work?
At which point I can get a new one.

Is that worth getting somebody in to try and fix or given the age could it be a waste of money / expensive?

I have taken off and cleaned up the side tank and as much of the hoses as I can. Tried it with both the float switch that leads from the side tank, both connected and not.
Same result. I select the program, it beeps,m then about 5 minutes later solid left and right lights.
I have taken out all the inside bits that unscrew and cleaned that up.
Is there anything else I can try it is it likely to now be electrical?

I will get digging 🙂
Is there a diagram showing what everything is to help me on the way?

Thanks for the reply 🙂
I have taken the lower front panel off and all looks clean and dry inside.
Any other ideas?

Well… I open the door, the light comes on, it ‘starts’ with the ‘whirring/ticking’ type noise that fridges make – it does that for around 5 minutes, it does generate some ‘cold’ then goes quiet (light still works) it’s just like it thinks it is at the right temp so stops working.
If I open the door 10 minutes later what little cold the sides had, has gone.
Then a bit later it repeats.
